The what, why and who!
Our Story and Mission
VIP Dog training was set up with the aim of helping pet dog owners to enjoy their pets.
We understand on a very personal level the challenges that having a pet dog can pose. No 2 dogs are the same and some dogs can be more challenging than others.
We help you to enjoy and enhance your life with your dogs, and every situation is approached with the same compassion, care and love we have with our own dogs.
Your dogs welfare is the most important thing for us. Kindness and understanding are the key to changing behaviour. This doesn't men we don't say no or implement boundaries, of course we do! But we do it in a way that doesn't use force or fear. No dog deserves to be scared into avoiding a behaviour for fear of the consequence!

Meet Our Expert Trainer
Dale Hannan
I have been training dogs for 20 years (that makes me feel old!)
I love learning and keeping up to date with current research and methods to ensure that I am offering the best advice and training for yours and my dogs!
I am accredited with ICAN, The Pet Professional Network and the IMDT. With qualification covering a wide range of behaviours. Too many to list here, and I wouldn't want to bore you! But please ask if you want to know more!
I currently have 2 dogs. Tarquin is a nearly 16 years old Shiba Inu. He is a bit of a grump, but very cool. He has canine cognitive dysfunction, which brings many challenges but is a priviledge to support. Fanny (yes! that really is her name! And yes, I do call it when we are out and about!) is a 5 year old Dogue Du Bordeaux crossed with a Cane Corso. She looks big and scarey, but is a soppy, affectionate wally who has no idea she is big and thinks everyone is her friend!
Both my dogs have had their challenges and both have taught me an awful lot! Every day is a school day!
I have also owned a Collie/GSD/Greyhound, 2 American Akitas, A czech wolfdog cross, Greyhounds, A rough Collie, GSD cross and 2 luchers! So you can see I am the crazy dog lady!
Dog never cease to amaze me, with every one offering something different and bringing a different challenge.
I have a few things I feel strongly about with my own dogs. Firstly, they are my pets, not an extension of my business or a commodity. I want them to enjoy their life, do dog things and feel secure, safe and loved! Secondly, once they come into my life they stay until their last breath. Whatever arises, or whatever the issue they come with, they stay with me. We work through any challenges. I don't turn my back on them when times get tough or challenging. It is my choice to have them, and never their fault if they are challenging. I made that commitment to them when I took them on and it is my responsibility to put their welfare and needs first. I will NEVER rehome a dog because they weren't what I was expecting, or because they challenge me! Thirdly, Their welfare and needs are always first! They rely on me and that is the promise I make to them, always! I will cancel plans, or holidays, or trips if I need to. If they needs me I will drop everything for them.
So now you know how I feel about my dogs, you can feel secure that I will always put your dog first too!
